Since 1987 the company specialized in microendoscopes for various medical procedures.

Since 1987, he was a pioneer in micro-endoscopy. He brought a significant contribution already in the late 80’s to the development of Endoscopy of the Eustachian tube, Falloposcopy, Angioscopy of the Coronaries and peripheral veins, Embryoscopy and Fetoscopy.
Since 1992, and for more than 20 years, he brought to Karl Storz his expertise, and developed for them new innovative micro-endoscopic lines in various fields such as Embryoscopy and Fetoscopy, Galactoscopy, Epiduroscopy, Endoscopy of Lachrymal ducts, Sialendoscopy, etc…
Gerard Barki is a member of the IFMSS-International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society and the International Fetoscopy Working Group.
He has mainly an engineering and management background (Ecole Polytechnique- Paris, M.I.T-Boston) and a wide experience in endoscopy
He has very close links with Karl Storz from 1984 to 1997 as partner in France, and in R&D program from 1997 to 1999 such as Eurofetus Biomed II program
In 1997, he was the co-founder of a new company, Vectec, specialized in disposable endoscopic solutions in laparoscopy
